Overview
Hope Chapel in Apex, North Carolina, a vibrant evangelical church with approximately 1,000 worshipers on Sunday mornings, seeks a Director of Nursery Ministry. This ministry primarily focuses on children ages birth through 4 years.
This is an established position with tremendous opportunities for ministry to children, volunteers and families. The facility includes five classrooms, a large gathering area with audio/video equipment, state of the art computerized check in security system and welcome center. The Children Ministries at Hope Chapel currently serves a weekly average of 150 – 300 children with over 200 volunteers assisting monthly in a multi-intelligence environment.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for developing and executing all aspects of the Nursery Ministry at Hope Chapel working in a vision/mission/values driven organization.
Definition
The Director of Nursery Ministry is responsible to administrate the programs of Hope Chapel focusing on children ages birth through four years. This role includes the recruitment, training and oversight of volunteers and paid staff, curriculum development and special program development. Participation in other church functions and duties is expected.
Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate effectiveness in communicating and fulfilling Hope’s vision, mission, core values and theological position.
2. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall strategic planning for the children’s ministry.
3. Provide visionary leadership and administration in the Nursery Ministry Department.
4. Recruit, train and evaluate Nursery Ministry staff and volunteers.
5. Maintain attendance statistics and systematically evaluate success of our Nursery Ministry program.
6. Develop and implement a strategy for outreach and assimilation of newcomers into nursery programs and the life of Hope Chapel.
7. Care for the families of the children by providing pastoral care and spiritual encouragement.
8. Develop, submit and monitor Nursery Ministry budget per church policy.
9. Develop, implement and evaluate procedure for the security and safety of children in our facility and programs.
10. Other duties as assigned to be discussed.
Qualifications
1. A demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with the Hope Chapel statement of faith.
2. A bachelor’s degree in elementary or early childhood education or equivalent experiences preferred.
3. 3-5 years of leadership experience in church children’s ministry preferred.
4. Demonstrates proficient abilities in administrative, organizational, problem solving and computer skills.
5. Word, Excel, ACS, and web content authoring skills preferred.

IT Systems Administrator
Job Description:
The IT Systems Administrator will provide daily administration and technical support, deploying and maintaining computer equipment, and managing an IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have previous IT experience, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, can effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, and has initiative and sound judgment. Prior experience as an IT Systems Administrator as well as strong troubleshooting skills with the Microsoft Office suite, Windows Server and XP, Active Directory, Outlook are required.
Responsibilities include:
• Provide onsite support to internal and external (VPN) users.
• Manage and implement IT projects.
• Budget and generate technology plans, policies, and strategies.
• Help design, maintain, and review IT policy.
• Make recommendations for hardware and software standards.
• Administer and maintain servers, workstations, peripherals, and services.
• Monitor performance and system usage, backup systems, and disk configurations.
• Research and implement software and hardware enhancements, diagnose and correct issues, define and implement new solutions.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and exercise an IT disaster recovery plan.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency with most aspects of computer systems management; new system installation / setup, fundamentals of security, performance monitoring, application and OS and network troubleshooting, installations, and updates.
• Building, configuring, troubleshooting and integrating new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades, to include Domain Controllers, file servers, printer servers, Backup system, and Symantec Anti-Virus.
• Familiarity with the architecture and protocols used in Windows environments; HTTP, DHCP, DNS.
• Familiarity with Wireless networking and security.
• Experience providing end user troubleshooting and support.
• Software license procurement.
• Maintain Hardware/Software database inventories and provide an accurate account of their supported equipment.
• Familiarity with Lotus Notes would be beneficial.
